Spring replacement
Broken torsion or extension springs replaced with high-cycle springs, sized to your door. Both springs, so it stays balanced.
Snapped spring, an opener that hums but won't lift, a door that came off its track? We post our prices on this page, quote before we start and never push a new door you don't need.
Garage door pricing has a bad reputation, so we post ours. The trip charge is $59 and it's waived when you go ahead with any repair.

Door hums but won't move, reverses on its own or ignores the remote. Logic boards, gears, sensors and limits.
Belt-drive or wall-mount openers with battery backup and phone app, installed and programmed. Old opener hauled away.
Door crooked or hanging? We reset it on its track, replace frayed cables and bent rollers, and check everything else.
Steel, insulated and carriage-style doors measured, ordered and installed with new track and weather seal.
Lubrication, balance test, safety-sensor check, hardware tightening, and remote or keypad programming.
Example pricing for this sample site. Custom wood doors, oversized doors and commercial doors are quoted on site.
You've probably seen the $19 service-call ads that turn into a $1,200 bill. We don't work that way. The price on this page is the price we expect to charge, and if your door needs something different, you'll see the number in writing before we start.
And if a $229 spring fixes it, we won't tell you that you need a new door.
Get a straight answerTell us what happened. A photo of the springs above the door helps a lot.
We give you the likely price on the phone and confirm it in writing on site.
Most repairs take about an hour, with parts from our truck.
We test balance, auto-reverse and sensors before we leave.

I installed doors for a regional dealer for nine years before Rosa and I started Northgate in 2018. We were tired of watching neighbors get upsold on doors they didn't need.
Today it's two trucks, two techs and Rosa running the office. When you call, you get one of us, not a call center three states away.
We'd rather earn your next call than squeeze this one.
Our trucks run the north side every day, so most calls in the circle get a same-day or next-morning visit.
We don't recommend it. Torsion springs hold hundreds of pounds of tension and cause serious injuries every year. If one breaks, leave the door closed, unplug the opener and call a pro.
Most doors can be repaired. Replacement makes sense when several sections are damaged, the door is rotting or cracked, or the repair costs more than about half of a new door. We'll give you both prices.
On most weekdays, yes, for calls that come in by early afternoon. Broken springs and doors stuck open get priority.
We install and service major brands such as LiftMaster, Chamberlain and Genie, and we'll repair most other common openers.
Standard springs are usually rated around 10,000 cycles, roughly 7 to 10 years for most households. High-cycle springs last longer and cost a little more.
$59, and it's waived if you go ahead with any repair.
We'll call or text back with a price range and the next open time, usually within the hour during business hours.
