Terms of Service

makeasite.co builds and runs done-for-you websites for local trade pros. These terms explain, in plain English, what you get, what you pay, and what happens if you leave.

Last updated Oct 2026. By asking for a preview or paying for a plan, you agree to these terms. Questions? Email hello@makeasite.co.

The free preview

Fill out the form and we'll send you a private preview link to your site. You don't pay anything to see it. If you don't like it, you walk away and owe nothing. Nothing goes live until you've approved it and picked a plan.

Plans and prices

All prices are in US dollars. There is no setup fee.

  • Starter: $29/month, or $290/year (two months free). A one-page site written for you, with click-to-call, a quote form, services, area and gallery sections, hosting, SSL and backups, connecting your own domain, and small edits by text or email.
  • Pro: $79/month, or $790/year (two months free). Everything in Starter, plus up to 6 pages (a page per service), service-area pages for nearby towns, a Google Business Profile tune-up, priority edits and a monthly visits and leads summary.
  • Growth: from $499/month, custom-quoted after a quick call based on pages, towns and call volume. The written quote we send you sets the price and what's included. Some Growth features (AI call answering, automated lead follow-up and review requests) are still rolling out to early customers, and we'll tell you exactly what's live before you sign up.

Founding customers (our first 25 on Starter or Pro) keep their plan's price for as long as they stay subscribed. See the founding price lock under Billing and cancelling.

A domain name is not included. If you already have one, we'll connect it. If not, we'll walk you through buying one in your own name (usually about $10–20 a year), paid directly to the registrar.

Billing and cancelling

There's no long-term contract. You pay in advance, monthly or yearly, and you can cancel anytime by emailing hello@makeasite.co.

  • Monthly plans: cancel anytime and your site stays up through the month you paid for. You won't be charged again.
  • Yearly plans are paid up front, with a 30-day money-back guarantee on your first year (renewals aren't covered). After that, cancel anytime and your site stays up through the year you paid for.

30-day money-back guarantee on your first yearly payment. If you ask within 30 days of your first yearly payment for a Starter or Pro plan, we'll refund that full yearly amount and end the plan. The guarantee covers the first year of a yearly plan only, not renewals. To avoid a renewal charge, cancel before your renewal date. Email hello@makeasite.co to ask. And if we ever end your service for a reason that isn't your fault, we'll refund the unused part of what you prepaid (see below).

If a payment fails, we'll email you. If it isn't sorted out within 14 days, we may take the site offline until it is. If we ever change a plan's price, we'll email you at least 30 days before your next charge at the new price, so you can cancel first. This doesn't apply to founding customers, whose price doesn't change (see the founding price lock below).

Founding price lock. Our first 25 customers on Starter or Pro, on monthly or yearly billing, are founding customers. As a founding customer, your plan's price won't go up for as long as your subscription stays active without a break. If you cancel and come back later, current prices apply. If you switch between Starter and Pro, you get the founding price of the new plan. Growth is custom-quoted, so it has no price lock; your written quote sets its price. If a founding customer moves to Growth, the founding price lock ends; if you later move back to Starter or Pro, current prices apply.

Your site and your domain if you leave

Your domain is yours. It's registered in your name, and if you leave, it goes with you. We'll remove our settings and help you point it somewhere else.

Your content is yours. The text written about your business and the photos, logos and details you gave us are yours to keep. Email us within 30 days after your plan ends and we'll send you a copy of that content. Our page designs, templates, code and hosting setup stay with us, so the site itself comes down when your paid period ends.

What you're responsible for

  • You own, or have permission to use, everything you send us: photos, logos, text, reviews and testimonials.
  • What we say about your business is true. Licenses, insurance, certifications, years in business, service areas and prices must be accurate and current, and you tell us when they change. We never invent reviews, ratings or licenses.
  • You review your preview and any changes before they go live. We use AI tools to draft copy and a person reviews every site, but you know your business best, and you're responsible for what you approve.
  • You handle the jobs, quotes, customers and leads that come through your site, and you follow the laws and licensing rules for your trade.
  • If someone makes a claim against us because of content you provided or approved, you agree to cover the cost of that claim.

Acceptable use

Don't use a makeasite.co site for anything illegal, for fake or misleading claims (including fake reviews or licenses you don't hold), to infringe anyone's copyright or trademark, to impersonate another business, to send spam, to collect people's details for anything other than responding to them, or to host malware, hateful or adult content.

Our right to refuse or end service

We can decline to build a site for any business. We can take a site offline or end service if these terms are broken, if a payment isn't made, or if a site puts people, our systems or other customers at risk. We'll email you first and give you a chance to fix it unless it's urgent. If we end your service for a reason that isn't your fault, we'll refund the unused part of what you prepaid.

No guarantees on rankings, leads or revenue

Nobody can honestly promise a #1 spot on Google, and we don't. We build every site with the basics search engines look for, but we can't guarantee search rankings, map placement, calls, leads, jobs or revenue. Google, other search engines and the services we rely on (hosting, domain registrars, payment processors and Google Business Profile) make their own decisions and sometimes have outages; we're not responsible for those.

Disclaimer and limit of liability

We work hard to keep your site fast, secure and online, and we keep backups, but the service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for lost profits, lost jobs, lost data or other indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 3 months before the claim.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page. If a change matters to paying customers, we'll email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you keep using the service after that, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, you can cancel.
